Severe Pleasure is a 5-piece Classic Rock Band formed in 2009 from multi-instrument musicians who both teach music and have performed in several other well-known Bay Area bands. And in 2019 Severe Pleasure added a very talented female vocalist who adds a new dimension to our music. Our mission is to bring happiness to our audience as a time-out from the difficulties that assault us in everyday life. We measure our success by how many people we get up on the dance floor, play air guitar, and sing along with us. We feed off that energy and our audiences feed off ours.

We also appreciate the need to make the evening a financial success for our employers: restaurants, bars, and other venues. Our music is Classic Rock, because that is what we like to play, and that's what most people like to listen to. It's intergenerational. Before every restaurant and bar gig we send out over 200 emails announcing the gig, post it to social media sites, and place flyers at the venue so people will know we will be performing. The more folks we bring in, the more successful our venue, and when the crowds like the music, they stay longer. Of course, some of the venues we play are private- corporate events, weddings, birthdays, etc., so for these, success is measured by smiles.

In addition to lead and rhythm guitars, drums, bass, vocals, sax and flute, we often add an electronic keyboard, depending on what our gig calls for. Our "go-to" guy for the keyboard is a fabulous musician and a truly accomplished singer.
